Yeah, LeBron definitely deserves MVP right now and I still think Durant is second, but I can't argue with Parker being ahead of Durant on the MVP ladder right now if you base it on their recent play.

But yeah, LeBron is having an absurd season, but so is Durant. Parker too, although if you just look at their individual numbers, he's clearly a couple of notches below LeBron or Durant.

LeBron: 27-8-7-2-1 on 57/42/75 and 64% TS and 61% eFG

Durant: 29-8-5-2-1 on 52/42/91 and 66% TS and 57% eFG

Parker: 21-3-8-1 on 54/38/84 and 60% TS and 55% eFG

And then if you want to get into more advanced metrics...

LeBron: 13.08 WS (2nd), .314 WS/48 (1st), 10.09 OWS (1st), 3.00 DWS

Durant: 13.14 WS (1st), .300 WS/48 (2nd), 9.87 OWS (2nd), 3.27 DWS (7th)

Parker: 8.76 WS (5th), .242 WS/48 (4th), 6.83 OWS (4th)

Don't know where, exactly, LeBron ranks in DWS because I could only see the top 10 on BBR. But 10th place is 3.08 so I'm guessing he's just outside the top 10. And I know, WS, WS/48, OWS, and DWS don't always accurately tell the whole story, but it just gives you a further look into the season they're having.

And look what Lebron turned Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis into! They were both prolific scorers, averaging around 25 points a game. And James Jones was the 3-point shootout winner and now can't even get any minutes, all because of Lebron!!

Dwyane Wade a top 6 MVP candidate despite playing with LeGawd. Not to mention off-season knee surgery.

Kobe's the "flavor of the week" so I guess I can sorta kinda see why he'd be number two on a weekly MVP ladder...BUT if he finished #2 in voting ahead of a Durant, it'd be pretty comical. ranted, Durant's slumping at a time where Westbrook is playing the best basketball of his career, so that's probably not helping matters much. However, Durant is still averaging 29-8-5-2 on 51/42/91 shooting, on a 45-16 team.

So they are punishing Durant and Paul because their teams weren't "lucky" enough to suck for the most part of the season?

No, they're just NOT punishing Kobe because he's been superb for the most part while his teammates have either been injured or played with injuries, which severely affected their record.
