Mike D'Antoni hired as new Lakers head coach!

not sure what this decision means for the lakers. dantoni could make this work, phil would DEF make it work. if I was in the shoes of laker mgmt I would humour phil and give in to his demands but then again going with dantoni has its obv advantages financially and longterm

Not a bad signing if true. Dantoni is a good coach to be picking up a few games into the season.

I know you're kidding but that myth needs to end. Suns were top 15 defensive efficiency every year and didn't have defenders Lakers have. Knicks were top 10 Mike may not preach D first but his teams play hard on D.

Yeah except someone touched Nashs leg and it broke and Kobe was sore in camp. And who is backing them up in the running game? No one.

People just look at the opponent PPG stat. The Suns' defense were middle of the pack and when he finally got a defensive center last year, they were elite. Can't expect a Amare/Diaw frontcourt to be a great defensive team.

I think D'Antoni is going to win a ring with this team. I like the signing. Phil Jackson is a better coach but I seriously dislike the guy. Plus the personnel is better suited for a D'Antoni 'system'. (Euphemism intended.)
