I don't know how i feel about this. We need some defense. Triangle would've utilized Pau, Nash, Dwight, and Kobe well. Where does Kobe fit in with D'Antoni's system?
Kobe will still be able to get his 16-20 shots per game now without affecting the number of touches by Gasol/Nash/Dwight. And even Jasmison, Metta or Blake may be seeing their shot attempts increase per game. Perhaps this will inspire some of the bench players to play harder when they see themselves rewarded with more shots.

I'm still not feeling this move. I would sleep better at night knowing we hired PJax, but we'll just see how things end up.

Honestly, there are no excuses for the Lakers not to do well. You can blame coaching all you want, but at the end of the day players win games and ultimately championships.
Or prove that he's a shitty coach and no matter how good his players are he can't lead them to a title.
How many coaches in the league right now have actually won titles? Spoelstra, Carlyle, Rivers, Popovitch? I'll take him over mr. potato head any day of the week. I don't remember any one complaining in Phoenix when he was the coach. Yeah, I was as excited as anyone else to get PJ back, but apparently that ain't happenin, but things could be worse. I'm just glad brown is gone and Jim Buss didn't hire Dunleavy.
Oh sure it is. D'Antoni, for all he gets shat on, is a good coach. He very easily could have a ring or two if a couple things had gone his way in Phoenix.
He lost the locker room in New York, but that team wasn't built at all for his style and would have been a mess for any coach to deal with regardless.
