Default shabazz ineligible

http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/ncb/s...le-ucla-bruins

EDIT:at least the university isn't in trouble, i'd rather have this then us playing him and getting sanctioned or us doing something wrong. either way this ****ing sucks.

EDIT 2: so according to the LA times, it's for what we all knew about, his unofficial visits to duke and unc. and i think i freaked out, it isn't for the year and the number of games he's being suspended is not known at this time.

EDIT 3: NCAA official statement on the matter

Wow, the NCAA is on a sudden power trip after letting schools run wild for 60 years

Edit: Only on schools that aren't in the South, Southern teams coincidentally bring in the most money....

NCAA is a joke. Making millions off these kids and offering nothing in return.

If they want to make money playing basketball immediately after high school, go the Brandon Jennings route and go to Europe.

A recent article from LAtimes said he could miss at most 10 games, I wouldnt worry much about this if it was not for an entire season. UCLA should be good enough to start 8-2 or even 9-1 without Shabazz.

Kids like Shabazz make enough money before and during high school. They should just keep their nose clean for a year or two and the NCAA will go sit back on their hands like the giant ******* they are.

But seriously, the one and done rule needs to go. Revert back to straight out of high school, or add a stipulation where if you go to college, you have to stay two years. Some schools are abusing the shit out of the new system, and in general it is slowly and blatantly killing college basketball.

lets pay these players already. in many cases, they have little other choice but to ensure their future financial stability. If he has to sit out the entire year then im not sure it'll hurt him anyways, he'll just go to the draft and be a top 3 pick anyways. We saw this with Enes Kanter and he wasn't even as hyped as Shabazz was (albeit in a weak draft)

the one year rule only hurts the game more. its got to go as well i agree

UCLA is good enough to compete without him no doubt

i dont know if id put much bearing into this article though. i read a number of articles saying that it was a forgone conclusion that he'd be playing in the opener, and now this. NCAA is too unpredictable nowadays, i dont understand them sometimes.

well, shabazz isn't playing in college.

his father is a trojan. that's the answer to the question you are all asking yourselves right now. why his parents would be so dumb as to release a statement criticizing the ncaa before they makes their ruling.
