How the f**k did we lose to a team that shitty earlier in the season? I guess they still had MJD, but still. And lost on a 70 something yard pass in the final minute. Don't give that up, and Indy is somehow 7-2 right now. Still, if you had told me they'd be 6-3 nine games in, I would've laughed in your face. Still a lot of flaws on the team, but Luck's improvement/emergence and the studliness of Reggie Wayne have covered up a lot of them.
The rest of the schedule isn't very favorable, so I'd be surprised if we do anything better 8-8 or 9-7 this year, if that. Still got two games against the Texans, @ New England next week, and @ Detroit. That's probably four losses barring a miracle. I guess beating Detroit (even on the road) wouldn't be a huge shock, but winning even one against the Texans and winning in New England would shock me.
Got three winnable games left too, though: vs. Buffalo, vs. Tennessee, and @ KC. Probably best case scenario we finish 4-3 to get to 10-6. Odds are, though, we go something like 3-4 or 2-5 and get to 9-7 or 8-8 which would still be a giant success coming off a 2-14 seasons and starting a rookie QB.
I predicted 5 or 6 wins for Indy. And I was right!
Yeaah, I thought 6-10 was a best case scenario type season. But dammit, now they're 6-3 and have given me hope. I'm still going into each Sunday with low expectations (especially next week in New England) but being in the playoff hunt two weeks into November is not something I expected.

This was the first win by more than 6 points and we had no business beating Green Bay. They still have a ton of MAJOR deficiencies and frankly aren't very good. But **** it, 6-3 is 6-3 and Indy's going back to the playoffs.

Agree. I still think they're a bad 6-3 team but, right now anyway, they're a playoff team. If it wasn't for Luck's knack to step-up in clutch situations, they could easily be something like 2-7.
TNF games have always been boring. I think there's been like 3, maybe 4 good games in TNF history.
It'll be that way for a long time. As long as the big networks bid gazillions for the marquee games during preseason bidding, the NFL network will always be left with table scraps.
Sometimes they get lucky if two teams are surprisingly good and just happen to be scheduled for Thurs night, but that is rare.

They'll most likely go into a losing skid (3 of next 4 or 4 of 5). Happens all the time in this league. They will still be in the playoff hunt though.

Well, the schedule isn't exactly favorable either down the stretch. So yes, a losing skid to finish the season wouldn't surprise me.

That's probably best case scenario, too. Like InspiredLebowski said, none of their wins until tonight have been easy. Three point wins over the Vikings, Packers, and Dolphins and a four point win over the Browns; and an OT win over the Titans. That's the other five wins on the season. So, I don't think any of the final seven games will be easy. I know the Bills suck but, to be honest, losing that one wouldn't be a shock. And I know the Chiefs suck too, but that's a hard place to win, especially with a rookie QB behind a real shaky (and by shaky I mean bad) offensive line.
Hell, to be honest, we could go 0-7 to finish the season and I wouldn't be all that surprised. Again, like Lebowski said, there's still a ton of major deficiencies on the team. The defense doesn't force turnovers, is banged up, and on a good day they're decent. The offensive line is ever changing due to injuries, and wasn't any good when everyone was healthy. And the running game is wildly inconsistent and, more times than not, bad. Like I said, I honestly have no f***ing clue how they're 6-3 but I'll take it. But they've got to be one of the least impressive and least intimidating 6-3 teams in recent memory.
Week 17 against Houston it looks completely likely that the Texans are sitting everyone since they (should soon) have the division locked up. Wouldn't be surprised at all if they go into that at 8-7 and a win gives them the 6 seed.
And then get smoked by whomever, hopefully not Peyton. But they're already far, FAR farther along than I anticipated.
Vontae Davis trade is still shitty though. Guy's not very good and they gave up a 2nd rounder for him. That 2nd rounder coulda been big taking a WR/OL or basically anywhere on defense.
