Don't underestimate the Warriors, they're very good this year. When Bogut comes back healthy and fully integrates within their offense they'll be making serious noise in the western conference. Kudos to Mark Jackson.

Pace of the game decided tonight's game obviously. GS is a fast running team, and BK is the slowest, and we played right into their hands. Transition defense was abysmal, and not having Brook is no excuse because he isn't fast enough to get back anyway. But then again if he was playing Avery might've been more inclined to go slower so..

Anyway Avery Johnson has proved again and again how he is incapable of coaching this team. Its time to dismiss him, before it is too late and we end up wasting an entire season. If Deron can put his ego away, we may end up getting Jerry Sloan, which is just so much of an upgrade over Avery I-dont-know-how-to-coach Johnson.

How awesome would it be if we suddenly acquired Larry Brown out of the blue? He's born in Brooklyn too.

The Nets needed to slow the game down, but got away from Joe Johnson in the post. I think in the long run these Brookless losses will be good for the team. Avery can now go to his guys and show them the consequences of pushing the pace.

If in a long run it gets Avery Johnson fired, Id say its good for the team.

Dunno if I'd want him with all of his 'cons'. Not to mention I bet he's pretty happy to have left the aggravation of the NBA behind to go back to college ball. How about PJ, instead? He was a Knick, and likes NYC.

...

BTW, if you remember the conversation about the noise level at Barclays, this was just reported by Zach Lowe: (It's also a pro-Vince Carter article, if anybody likes that)

The Barclays Center provides some of the best sight lines in the NBA, but it is also turning me into my father. "WHY IS IT SO LOUD IN HERE?! WHAT? WHY ARE THEY STILL PLAYING MUSIC OVER THE GAME ACTION 45 SECONDS AFTER THE LAST STOPPAGE? THE CHEERLEADERS ON STILTS ARE FRIGHTENING ME!"

It is overwhelming. It almost literally hurts.

Avery has shown himself to be a good coach this season and in the past. Your vendetta against him is rather childish.

Oh really? I bet I am not the only one wanting him gone, hes proved that he has no idea what hes doing with this team. The players simply rely on themselves, the coach is a non-factor.

Seriously, what did we do to deserve such a coach like Avery Johnson? We dont act like we were champion of the league, nor do we troll other fans as hard as Knicks fans do...

He seriously needs help in that department but I believe that he is finally in the rotation after this game.
marshon probably took full advantage of being a new player last season. the NBA book on how to play him probably wasn't developed very well, and we were able to see the best of him while not having to pay for his weakest areas. now all that's changed.

since he's now well known to be a weak defender, teams are going to go after that weakness like never before. especially because the nets are no longer doormats, so every competitive advantage must be exploited. last year teams could take the lead with their starters, give up a little of that lead with their second team against marshon, and still beat us with regularity. now that's all changed.

point is, this is going to have to be up to marshon to change. obviously there's some part of technique or desire that is holding him back from where he needs to be. i'm sure the coaches, like true professionals, are doing whatever they can to help him with this, but it's going to have to come down to marshon. if you don't see marshon in the rotation, it has to be because of marshon, first and foremost. and yes, coaches want you to play in accordance with their philosophy and want to bench you if you go against that philosophy, but that's always going to be the case no matter who the head coach is. you need to get with the program. so again, that's on marshon and nobody else.

but if he's truly humble like in the recent association episode and works on the right things, including his attitude if necessary, i'm sure there will be no problem with his PT. no, he'll start appearing more often and we'll have a pretty good idea why. and we can all be happy for the right reasons, meaning for the long-term good of the team.

Well its the game against Knicks, can we win this? If we lose can Avery gets fired? The worst thing that can happen is that we loses in a close game, Avery Johnson keeps his job. Better be a Nets win or a blowout loss.

Maybe we can win this, but still it wont change the fact that we've lost way too much during the last stretch. Well, perhaps thats the kind of life we have to face.

Well a 3pts loss, Avery Johnson still keeps his job huh? Worst outcome possible...

And whats worse for me, being negged by some shitty Knicks fan... Well looks like he has 2-3 bars, my rep points went down by 5pts lol.

d-will is shooting .278 for the season from 3pt land, and that's before factoring in tonight's 1/6 performance. he's killing us.

if he had merely shot 2/6 then that last possession might have been us going for an easier go-ahead basket instead of needing to score three in a mad rush to tie.

woulda-coulda-shoulda, but if you want to get paid like an elite PG, you need to shoot at LEAST .333 from the arc. you're the biggest star on the team, in your prime, with plenty of other offensive weapons around you. so no excuses. if your wrist is hurting you too much then you need to pass those shots up, because you're killing us.
