Oh, so all 5 games he played last year were against the Steelers?

He did not win NFL player of the week. He won it in the defense category and just pertaining to just the NFC. So no he didn't do better then anyone on offense in the entire NFL nor was he the best player in defense in the NFL, it was the NFC. All of this awards are subjective so calm the hell down f@ggot

Campbell is not only in the same class as those other names but possibly above them...he did play better than all of those names last year, he just didn't get noticed because he plays on the Cardinals

2011
Calais Campbell 8 sacks / 52 tackles
J.J. Watt 5.5 sacks / 58 tackles
Haloti Ngata 5 sacks / 37 tackles
Justin Smith 7.5 sacks / 52 tackles

but right right...I get it, stats mean nothing and Campbell just did all of that because his buddies helped him do it

If you honestly think Campbell played better than Dockett last Sunday, all credibility is lost. You're only box score watching just to pimp your own guy when in reality he was mediocre. You know that "he plays for the Cardinals" would be a valid excuse if it wasn't for the fact that Houston rarely gets any media attention. Stats never tell the story when it comes to 3-4 defensive ends. Have you ever even watched a Cardinals game?

Calais Campbell is a phenomenal player but his 6'8 frame is both an advantage and a disadvantage. The advantage is his additional ability to be a force on special teams but the disadvantage is it's hard for him to stop the run because he doesn't have the leverage the Watts, Smiths, and Ngatas of the world have. Watt, Smith, and Ngata are all DOMINANT run defenders where as Campbell is simply average to above average.

1. Watt - The only argument against him right now is the fact that he doesn't have the track record. Other than that there's no argument.
2. Smith
3. Ngata

4. Campbell

He had 2 against Dallas Clark and he had 2 against that god awful Steelers O-Line. He had 1 against the Raiders. Honestly if he was an elite pass rusher don't you think the Texans would of kept him? They didn't even give him an offer because he's an overrated, injury-prone, mediocre pass rusher who lives off his name. If you get paid 100 million you better be a top 10 defensive player but when it comes to Mario, he's not even close.

The Texans didn't make an offer because they knew what type of money he was going to command and they had JJ Watt and Brooks Reed, so they had the luxury of letting him walk. It's pretty simple.

In 09 Revis had arguably one of the best seasons ever for a defensive back and yet he didn't win the award. You wanna know why? Because all the awards are given based off box score watching. You're an idiot if you think these people actually watch all 16 games. They go through the box scores and whoever has the flashiest stats are given the award. Yup. Clay Matthews and DeMeco Ryans were FAR better than Campbell this past week but you wouldn't know because all you did was look at Campbell's 10 tackles and 2 sacks that were basically handed to him by his team. Done arguing with you because yet again all you're doing is talking out of your ass defending a player you love when you didn't even watch his game.

You do know Cardinals' fans feel the exact same away as me right? Campbell didn't deserve shit this week. They just looked at the stats. You can't measure effort.

Plus, Mario wasn't even in his natural position in the Texans new defense under Wade Phillips. They had numerous reasons to allow him to walk.

LOL @ the idea that JJ Watt is clearly the best. That is an insult to Ngata & Smith, they're all on the same level, which is above everyone else but basically on par with each other.

You can't tell me why Ngata isn't as good as JJ Watt because no such legit argument can be made.

his stats are DRASTICALLY better than Docketts...it isn't like they were just a little better, it is night and day

and today people have NFL rewind and can watch an entire game in just 30 minutes...watching every game isn't nearly as difficult as it used to be.

from snap to whistle straight to snap to whistle that is all a single NFL game is, 30 minutes long...

Ngata isn't the elite pass rusher JJ Watt is. They're all on the same level but I put Watt above because he's this good at this age and he's only scratching the surface of what he can become. He's the Calvin Johnson of 3-4 DEs, his athleticism is ridiculous.

Sure I can. Ngata is beastly vs. the run, same with Smith and Watt. Campbell is very good, but behind them as far as consistently being dominant goes.

All of them create just as much pressure on the quarterback as Campbell.

Do you honestly think they do that? Like honestly. If they watched the game then they should of known how empty Calais' stats were. He's been the definition of mediocre so far this season. Patrick Peterson and Daryl Washington have clearly been the better players so far and they were definitely better than Campbell. How about you yourself a favor and use that NFL rewind and watch that game. And as long as you take off the Calais' homer glasses it'll be clear as day how he didn't deserve that award you've been harping on.
