I thought you needed 3 stars to have a big 3? Ever since Chandler went to the Knicks the media has referred to them having a big 3. Since when is Chandler anything but a very good roleplayer? Yeah, he has a DPOY but let's be honest, the guy isnt exactly Olajuwon. I can see why Knicks fans would be dissapointed year after year when they are fed BS like this.

Interestingly enough though, he was pretty much the Knicks' best and most consistent player for a good stretch last season. Anyone who watched the Knicks last season knows that Chandler was pretty much the lone defensive and energy guy along with...Jared Jeffries.
If the media creates stories like these hyping the team up, it becomes easier to bash on the Knicks, which creates headlines. Same with any other great teams. It happened to the Heat for the past couple years and I imagine it will happen ot the Lakers now. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not comparing the Knicks to these teams, the media creates these headlines because there is a sense of "underachievement" and obviously the fact that they're a big market.
And Amare? Dude punches a fire extinguisher after a playoff game. So I can't say that's the most absurd thing he's done/said

well the lakers and heat are actually talented teams, and teams that have had success. the media didnt 'build them up', they actually played well. the same cant be said for the knicks
Amare Stoudemire says the Knicks' "Big 3" of Tyson Chandler, Carmelo Anthony and himself ranks "right there at the top" with the Lakers trio of Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant, the Heat's Big Three and Oklahoma City's duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westrbook.
Say what you warn about amare but he always has high aspirations for NY.
