Splitting pots is very common in a poker tourny, should also be common in FF.
FF is exactly like poker...they are extremely similar...both are numbers games where you are just trying to get the odds in your favor, "get in with the best hand"...there is an eliment of skill and luck in both games, sometimes the best hand loses...
The only way to really know how you stack up in both games is by playing dozens upon dozens of games...by doing that you WILL profit if you are intact better than field. Vegas only needs a 1% edge to make billions.
When Marlo said he was in 40+ leagues this year it made sense to me since he has a poker background...he knows its the only way to make sure he will profit and that bad luck will only cause minimal damage. A poker pro can easily lose ONE tourny, but he won't come out a loser if he plays in 100 tournies.
Not lame for me. I have $400 more than I would have had otherwise. And, this kind of bartering actually happens more than you would think, especially when you are in a league with close friends.
I'm in a playoff FF league right now...I really like it, seems like there is lots of strategy involved...some of the strategy is based on who you think will win or lose which can bite you in the ass, but it is still strategy
Next year it would be cool if we could do a $125 buy in...$100 for the season league and $25 for playoff league that follows

Ok with me. There may be people who want in the FF regular season league but don't want to do the playoff one, though. I know someone (don't remember who) posted a couple pages back that they still wanted to play, but wouldn't go over $100 for the buy-in.

Guess we'll have to play it by ear.
any number of people can play it, so we wouldn't need all 12, but it would be good to ask and collect at the start of the year that way we don't have what we had this year, which is everyone just vanishing after the regular season.
if we got 8 people to pay an extra $25 then that could be a nice little playoff fantasy league...maybe $200 pot winner take all or something, IDK
