I liked GTA IV but I didn't like how they took out some of the cool parts of the game that they had in the past GTA games like batons for cops, chainsaws, etc.
This game should be sick, I'm looking forward to it.
Rockstar released the new imagery in its latest Asked & Answered session in response to the question, "“Why don’t you give us more news [on GTA V]?”
"We are sorry if you find this frustrating," said Rockstar,"but please understand, we don’t do this because we ‘don’t care about our fans' 'don’t respect our fans’ 'hate GTA fans etc' – precisely the opposite! We do it because we want to make sure we only release 100% correct information, and because we want to keep plenty back for the actual game release so there are still lots of surprises when you play it.
"We just have not been in a position to show more of the game than the trailer and will not be for a while yet."
Below is the first image 'smuggled' out of the studio:

But the "art team said that no single shot could encapsulate the game properly, so they gave us another...", and here it is:

And that's our lot for now, though Rockstar said, "We will try and get some more screens for you soon and then another trailer when we are ready."
Hopefully they're working hard at keeping hackers at bay online. That was and still is a problem with GTA IV's online.
Two garbage screen shots just doesn't do it. If they wanted to give 100% information, why release an annoucement trailer so soon? If it was going to take this long, might as well just release a statement confirming they're working on the game and around this time release the trailer.
It is what it is. I'm done caring until there's a date, at least a month and year. +rep for posting the news and shots, heavincent.
Now we won't hear anything for at least 5 more months. Those 2 screenshots was basically Rockstar's way of telling us to piss off.
It's cool though. They're just building up hype. Plus it must take an eternity to design these giant open world games.
And by the way, Rockstar pretty much confirmed that there will be another Red Dead game. Quote from Rockstar:

Awesome, we love Red Dead too – and are thrilled that so many of you loved John Marston’s tale and are excited for more epic Western action. As we mentioned in our last set of Asked & Answereds to similar questions about the future of other game franchises like Bully and L.A. Noire, we don’t always rush to make sequels but that does not mean that we won’t get to them eventually. Stay tuned for further announcements about the future of the Red Dead series.
