Default Question about tattoos

I'm thinking about getting a tattoo of my daughter's name on my left forearm. I was talking to the wife about wanting to get it done today, but I decided against it because I'm doing the P90X and I don't want to put it on hold again for the 100th time.

Anyway, here's what I'm trying to get at:

Since starting the P90X, I've noticed that I'm getting bigger here and there. I want to get a tattoo after finishing the program, but I also plan on doing a 2nd round of the workout routine before the year is through.

Do you think a tattoo will start looking weird or stretch out when/if my forearm grows bigger during the 2nd round?

Anybody here have tats?

Also, generally, how long does a person stay sore after getting tatted? I really want to get it today because it's a rare day off during the week for me, but I know soreness can last for up to 2 weeks (if not more), and that would mean 2 weeks of no workout, which would eventually mean restarting the program once I feel less pain.

Shouldn't mess up man. You'll be fine. Only some drastic weight would make any difference. Be sure to put SPF on it though so it doesn't fade. I don't have that issue though as I'm not frequenting any nude shores.

Here's mine. Got err about 2 years ago.

Thinking about a rib tattoo next.

22. And I only want the tattoo of my daughter's name, so I'm assuming it should be understandable why I'm wanting one now.

Unless you go from 135 pounds to 300+ pounds, the tattoo won't stretch. Especially on the forearm, which doesn't grow that much.

Why in the world would you get a tattoo of your daughter's name on your arm? So she grows up believing that's the way you show your love and gets the name of the first douchebag she date's name tattooed on her tit?

Honestly it would look good, but I dont know man I feel like you'll regret it down the road. Like you're young, married, love cars, and good humor and stuff but who knows maybe you'll become more professional-minded in a decade or so And it only takes a half-sleeve shirt to display that damage...

To stay safe, why not do it across your mid-back?

In the meantime, good Scholar, check this site out to beef up the forearms.

Soreness doesn't last two weeks (I didn't think it hurt at all, ever). And weight gain shouldn't effect your forearm very much.

I actually already got it done. :) It isn't very big. It didn't hurt much, btw. At first, it felt like a bee sting but I got used to it.

It only took about 15 minutes.

I'd post a pic but I don't have a camera.

Do you really want to suffer in hell for eternity? The bible is very clear about marking your body.

Nah it won't do anything. I've gained probably 30 pounds and added inches to my arms since I got my tats and none of them have been effected at all.

Yeah 4, getting another one within the next few weeks probably

Depends where you get it/how much stuff touches/rubs it during the day. So forearms might stay sore for a while since they make contact with a lot in a day

And no you definitely don't have to stop the workout because of it. It gets sore but not THAT sore. It won't effect your ability to do anything after a couple days. If anything the only discomfort would come from sweat touching the tat and possibly making it burn some...like when you sweat into a cut.

Post some pics up though I wanna see it

Thanks for the info, B-Low. It's just a tattoo of my daughter's name. It isn't very big. Actually it hardly takes up any room on my forearm. I'll try to get a picture when I get a chance. I don't have a camera or a cell phone at the moment that will let me post online.

I got it done roughly 4-5 hours ago and I don't feel any soreness. The guy who tatted me up said that due to the size of it, it wouldn't cause too much discomfort.

I'm only putting P90X on hold for today. Start it up again tomorrow morning, and instead of taking the usual Sunday off, I'll just work out the day I missed today then.
