On a side note, how many steps can you take before dribling in NBA??? I know it is different than in FIBA (where no step is allowed before dribling, just pivoting).

Because (in the video, not in the giff) I count 3 steps since he touches the ball till he driblles and then 4 steps after dribling.

When it comes to Lebron and Wade they can take about 3-4 steps before dribbling the ball. It's one of the reasons they can get out on fast breaks so quick. The refs practically let them run with the ball after the catch.

It most likely through off his balance and thats where the whistle came from and lebron knowing the foul was getting called just rebalanced and took a shot.

You can tell who watched the game and didn't watch the game...this was a clear travel. Lebron is the master of running backing with the basketball before he takes his first dribble too.

Thats the only 2nd time ive seen him really get away with a travel, he was expecting to get fouled..... not sure whats the deal behind the fapping of haters going on here tho, its the reffs fault, not Lebrons... not like the Celtics won anyways... and not like ANYBODY else can occasionally get away with a travel once in a lifetime.....

His two game winners against the Wizards in the playoffs are the most famous ones, but yeah, he gets away with them every game almost.

Upon reviving the slower higher quality GIF it looks like 3 to me. He puts his first step down right before he picks the ball up.

Believe or not, but I was pissed about those gamewinners haha. I was rooting for the wiz in those series.
