Exactly. Rodman was the epitome of mind games and using anything including flopping to get under players skins (what Griffin does too). It's no surprise like Rodman, (though not quite as bad) Griffin is in confrontations so often.
Reality here is... if you're going to get called for stupid touch fouls on defense.... you do what it takes to get an edge. Improve defensively... add some flopping to your game etc. These aren't atrocious fouls like people are talking. These are exaggerating contact type flops. Not the no contact type flops of Bosh, Fisher, Manu etc where he flies on the floor when nobody touched him.
He has had a few of those... but the ones people are spamming like the recent one vs Love.. there was contact and he was off balance. Scouts have already come out and said Griffin's defense is much more effective this year and he's playing better D in the paint. I read an article about it as recent as two days ago.
It's going to take a few years for him to become a "good" defender so people need to just chill and let the guy develop. If you look at Rose, Durant and other recent stars you'll notice the jump usually happens in their 3rd season. Next year Griffin will have extra incentive to be a bonafide superstar. If he wins an MVP next season he can get a max deal like Rose got.
