Yeah.. and look at the teams it was against too.. Avery probably told Dirk to take it easy right now.. and Dirk has been injured. Dirk did the exact same thing during a big stretch last season too.. then the competition got tougher and Dirk had to take over again.. he is trying to let Josh be the man because it's the right thing to do for his development..

Then how do you explain Mavs win against the Nuggets without Dirk in the lineup? How did all these "poor wannabe scorers" win without the all-mighty Dirk?
Denver isn't playing well if you haven't noticed.. a lot of teams are bad and still win games. This is just because there are so many horrible teams in the league. It's also due to the chemistry Dirk creates.. any other guy in the league as good as Dirk is a ballhog like Kobe or Iverson.. and doesn't allow poor teammates like Dirk's to even shoot or get any confidence.
Without wanting to bash the Dallas team outside of Dirk, cause they arent exactly mediocre like FabC. says, he has one observation where he has a point. The Mavs are a lot like the Spurs, in that they are really a balanced team scoring wise. Not in the 7 guys in double figures way, but in a way, were everyone is capable of scoring in double figures and were they arent that dependent on Nowitzki anymore. Dirk has really moved closer to Duncan in the regard, that he is the facilitator on offense. His mere presence changes the opposing teams defense and allows his teammates to be more efficient.
Now I dont want to make this a Duncan vs Nowitzki thing, but there is no other way to explain the 25-3 record they have had after the 0-4 start.
