I think his 2004-2005 year could have been considered a prime year if he hadn't been dealing with an injury during that time and had a good off-season of training after the 2003-2004 season was over.

Agreed. Anyone remember that disgusting reverse dunk on (well by) T-Mac when he came back from his injury? I'm positive that it was from the 2005 season. I'll post the vid if I can find it.
