It's good to see that type of support, but I'll admit to getting really annoying by some hog sitting courtside who was standing up and screaming for most of the 3rd quarter.
Oh well, at least she got some physical activity in.
OState? Can't tell if you are referring to Ohio State or Okie State since you used OU for football.
Either way, that's your go to college basketball crowd? I love college ball. Love it more than the NBA (crucify me, don't care) and I've been to a couple dozen different arenas across the country. If you are referring to tOSU, then meh. Been to only one game and their crowd wasn't that good.
Never been to an Oklahoma State game. I do remember watching the Durant v Boggans (sp?) game on tv. Crowd looked great and that is one of the best college basketball games in my lifetime. Actually, one of the more exciting games from start to finish in any sport. Tried to avoid a hyperbole, but whatever. Think it's on Youtube...
But I still find it weird that is your go to college atmosphere.
Hmm....the thread is about OKC fans. From Oklahoma. My avatar has the word Pokes in it which is a nickname for the OState Cowboys.
Yeah. I used the Pokes in basketball to show that Oklahoma has some very, very good basketball support. The college teams are very popular in state. To me it was a no brainer to put a franchise in Oklahoma. Same as Memphis and Charlotte. Built in BBall fans.
Ohio State is awesome. But this thread was about another state. Sorry I confused you. Three college teams with OSU as their initials.
Here are some articles for you to read. And that game was legendary. Loved it.
It's Oklahoma, its full of crazy ass fundamentalists nut jobs. Why else do you think Durant plays the Christian card so hard?
Get bent, dude. Seriously, go play on the freeway.
Back on topic, most of us just take pride in having a pro sports team to watch. Of course we're going to embrace it. I'm glad most don't see us as annoying, though I know we DO have some annoying fans, like any team.
The sad thing is that OKC is a much smaller town than Miami, yet OKC almost always has a soldout arena. The Miami fans only start coming to games when their team reaches the Playoffs.
I really don't understand how people, who have the chance to see LeBron, Wade & Bosh playing together, don't come out to these games more.
Then again, we're comparing Miami to OKC. Even without any scheduled NBA games, there's always shit to do in Miami.
Heat fans are the best because they are the most affluent and successful people. To us, sports is a hobby. Something to do in your free time with discretionary income. Not a passion. We have perspective.
