You're not gonna win a decision against a champ very often when its a fight that close. Like people are saying it coulda gone either way, but to me, beating the champ in a decision fight requires a DECISIVE and blatant victory/advantage for the challenger. If you want the belt you gotta finish the champion more times than not.
It may look like that to us but the judges can't have that kind of bias. Just because he's coming into the fight wearing a belt doesn't mean anything. It's not a tie-breaker for close rounds. And speaking of Frankie Edgar, he won that kind of a fight as a challenger in the first Penn fight.

They SHOULDN'T have that kinda bias but I really do believe they do in a lot of cases. Kinda like the "hometown fighter" decisions you'll see a lot earlier on cards/prelims.

Cormier dominated Mir. It's fun watching a guy that's 5'10" have his way with all these heavyweights that he routinely gives up 10-20 lbs and 5-7 inches to. Can't wait to see how he does against JDS and Cain.

Not sure how you could have given 4 to Gil or 5 to Ben. I thought 2nd round was the tie-breaker really.

Great fight though.

Gosh, what a boring night of fights. I swear, UFC has turned to shit ever since they partnered up with Fox.

I really hope you're being sarcastic. If not then you're clearly just one of those internet guys that says nothing is as good as it used to be...

I scored it a draw and wasnt surprised with a split decision. 1 and 5 for gil; 2 and 3 for bendo. 4th round was a draw for me. Round 2 was sort of a toss as well i think. Tough fight to score. There has been at lot of rematches in the LW division but I would like to see another one.

Awesome event outside of the Mir/Cormier fight. Wonderful undercard. Brown keeps winning, but I think he'll be in trouble when he steps up in competition. Fan-****ing-tastic to see a Diaz get finished. Much props to Thomson. Cormier said he was nervous and got tired in that fight, so that explains his performance. I scored Melendez/Henderson a draw. Dana said there won't be an instant rematch so I'm not sure who is next.

A little bit of controversy circling on Twitter about the main event last night. Apparently Wade Vierra, the judge who scored the bout for Gilbert, trains and is a brown belt at Caesar Gracie (which is obviously Gilbert's gym). Granted it probably wasn't a big deal since all the judges scored the fight closely, but still surprising that UFC didn't catrch that

Hey guys

Despite Frank losing ... Ronda gave me a high-five before I took this picture ... THAT IS NOT MY HAND, that's some guy reached over to get a high-five from her. She got this close cuz she came over and hugged her friend coming from the audience .. I think that was her friend.

I think I don't have to say the fighters name that were in the attendance since they showed it in the television.

Like I said, despite Frank losing .. I had fun watching it live ... I came in late though, came after the Benavidez fight.
Everyone got mad drunk pissed when Melendez lost, they lost their marbles and left the arena. Lmao.

More pics later. I'm goin to sleep, just got home lol.

Peace out.

As much as I'd love to see Chael win, he is so overmatched here that it's ridiculous. I can't remember the last title fight where it was such a lopsided matchup on paper. If they fought 100 times, I think Jones would win 95-99 of them.

At this point Chael has to know he's not going to get another shot at MW so he may as well go for the big money fights. Win or lose.
