They actually pre-date the Sixers. Rochester Royals were originally a BAA team in 1948, two years younger than the Knicks.

I'm aware of that. I know they started as the Royals and that's their throwback jersey... but they should change it up a bit when moving 30 minutes away from a team with the same color scheme. Right?

I agree, if only to avoid market confusion. They could even keep the kings color scheme since it was pretty good. It's bad enough that they're near each other, but to have the same color scheme seems dumb.

People complaining about all the teams being near each other... lots of the east coast teams are bunched up together and no one complained before. The West coast teams have to travel longer distances to play than the East Coast teams so please stop with this complaint.

I'm fine with the move if the Clippers are leaving, but this is a bit much either way I guess. Even without the move CA shouldn't have four NBA teams.

3 gawd damm basketball teams in the LA area
2 Baseball teams
2 Hockey teams
0 Football teams

I would trade the Magoof Royals and LA Clippers
for 1 football team.

Bring the Raiders back.

They should just call themselves the Los Angeles Royals of Anaheim.

I am surprised Stern would allow the LA area to be saturated with 3 NBA teams.

Oh God.. I'll never forgive the stupidity of the Angels changing their name to "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim". That was so shitty. I guess profits increased like 70 percent or something after.. but IMO it's selling out for money. Anaheim Angels had won the freaking World Series and they change the name like that???

I predict the "Royals" will go bankrupt.

LA people are pretty much settled in with the Clippers and Lakers.

Not really... the market can handle a third team. Orange county is the 6th biggest county in the united states. It deserves its own team, i know i'll be going to many of them.

If the OC is such hot sh*t then why name all your teams LA This and LA That. I mean LA Angels of Anaheim? Really? How stupid and ridiculous does that sound? Now LA Royals of Anaheim. Stupid. It's like trying to be the man but needing to name drop your big brother so that people will even take you seriously. Pathetic.
