If you truly believe the Celtics are a better team without Rondo then you really don't know much about basketball.
All I'm saying is that without him, they're a better defensive team, BY FAR. His rebounding and passing is far overrated, and they hardly lose ANY assists. And I'm pretty sure they'd give up the 6 extra points and 2 assists for the 8 less points and the much better defense all around, with the extra defense. Like I said. He DEFINITELY has the intangibles.
Repped, this is pretty much the statistical evidence I would want to have when debating the importance of point guards to there teams to people who think Rondo is elite at pretty much everything.
Would like to point out that you haven't taken into factor his free throw shooting either.
Case in point : Rondo is an upper echelon point guard, but too many people over-rate him like he is the Steve Nash of this Celtics team. This Celtics team would be decent with or without Rondo. Also, for a point guard, please learn to shoot free throws It's like a big F U to all those guards out there who spent hours upon hours with there coaches practicing free throws.
Who did the Celtics play when Rondo was out???? I remember a lot of sub .500 teams but am not sure and the Celtics were still only 7-4

The celtics don't need their point guard to shoot. They have good shooters/scorers already.
They need defense/steals, rebounding-->possible transition play, controlling of the tempo/running of the offense, good penetration, and good on point passing. All things rondo does better than rose.
