Yes, he gets lots of McDonalds All Americans. Few if any of them become collegiate All Americans. So how come?

See, I agree with you that Tennessee often has the best athletes on the floor. But they're not the best basketball players. Their offense regularly appears disjointed. They lose games they shouldn't. With the caliber of recruit they can get, they ought to be in the sweet 16 all the time, and a legit contender for a title every once in a while. I haven't seen that.

IMO, Pearl has built his rep on personality and a big home upset or two each year.
