Default DEN vs LAL game 2 Preview: SCRAPPY!!! Just what we need!!!

I really think we need some hard fought battles like this game
one to get us in a fighting mood..... We didn't have that last
year and we lost most games that were scrappy......

I predict that IF we play hard and scrappy, we will beat DEN.

Good job Lakers!!!! Keep it up!!!

it was a good win.. lakers didn't play their best but kept at it and brought home the w... got some help from denver, missing so many free throws but still, that just opened the door, lakes still had to take advantage of it

hopefully in game 2 now that they got a good look at the nuggets and have some film time they won't look so caught out to start the game

Lakers played like crap (except for Kobe), the calls went against us, and yet we still managed to win.

That was a very good win!

Hopefully it demoralized Denver.

What I don't understand and hope someone help me on this one...Why are the lakers not sending the ball into the post Pau and Bynum should be killing TEAM on the inside...

Guy's whats wrong with Sasha game Dude haven't did much in the shooting department which he is known for...I will be adding him to my current Scrub list that the lakers needs to trade in the offseason....

Glad we won and good to see D/Fisher shoot himself out of a slump...I hope...

We didnt feed the post because our bigs were in foul trouble and also their bigs might be shorter, but they don't lack in strength. Denver handled the paint really well and their bigs really push and pull and bruise down low.

Hopefully now that the Lakers have a few days to look at some tape and get a better game plan set, we will see some adjustments to get the ball into PAU more and also not start the game so slow.

As for Sasha, the guy isn't getting many minutes these days and unlike Fish (who is the ultimate professional and an experienced veteran) Sasha is going to need to shoot himself out of whatever is in his head.

Well I wasn't able to watch game 1 because of an early next day class. I did see Bynum with 5 personal fouls though so that answers that question.

With Pau, Im not so sure. he did take only 9 shots, converting on 5 of them. So if nothing was working for him, I don't see why. They should have handed it to him more or drawn up a few more plays.

Great to see Kobe take a bit of control. 40 points on 28 shots isn't such a bad thing. Its great to see that we were able to shoot poorly against a great team and still win.

Hopefully they act like this is a loss so they can bounce back next game for a huge W instead of just a grind it out W.

That was a championship caliber win last night. The first one in a while.

That win for us definitely demoralized Denver. They did everything right, got a superb game from Carmelo(one which I am certain he wont duplicate in this series), got all the calls from refs, and still lost.

In the postgame newsconference I saw on NBATV Phil said the Denver did a good job in cutting off the angels for the post passes and the team did not adjust to it. But he mentioned that with the film he thought they could make their adjustments and get Pau and Andrew more involved in game 2.

why do you think denver is definitely demoralized? they could be positive about almost stealing one on the lakers home court.

Well I think what he means is, Denver did a lot to win the game while the lakers struggled a lot and they still lost by 2.

The only weakness I can gather was the mediocre free throw shooting done by Denver. Hopefully the lakers come out stronger next game. That win won't happen again for a while.

I wouldn't say demoralized but the Nuggets played a good game and the Lakers still found a way to win rather then the Nuggets finding a way to lose. You notice that is the media spin on it? Stein has a whole article on ESPN right now about that saying the Nuggets are cool and calm for game 2 etc. No props to the Lakers what so ever. Sh*t I wish the Lakers will sweep them as a big f*ck you to all these doubters. And you know in the back of their minds this loss has to effect the Nuggets psych we will see game 2. I hope our boy come out with th right adjustments and we beat that a$$ straight up by double digits. Then all these people talking about "only three loses by 2 points in the playoffs" will shut the f*ck up.
We got these f*ckers I know it.

GO LAKES!!!!!

Thanks for bringing up the media spin, no credit to the Lakers - all focused on Denver and how they coulda/shoulda won.

Honestly, as long as The Lakers themselves listen to this garbage, we wont win. IMO, a win is a win. I dont care if its by 2 points or 20. I dont care if its a sweep or 7 game series. I really see this series going to at least 6 games with a few overtimes. I'm prepared for a long one. The key in this series is home court. We can not let Denver win here. We all know what happens when we go to Denver. The air gets thin and we come out sluggish. I believe we lose game 3 based on thier home court and energy. We'll need to pick up one on thier court though, and if we play Laker ball, I'm sure we can do it.
