"when healthy" is the key word here. Portland has enough concerns with Oden's health. What do we do when Jermaine goes down for 3 months and Oden goes out for a month? (I'm just making up times, don't jump on me for implying that Jermaine is more prone than Oden). I don't feel like starting Aldridge at C, Frye at PF, and only having Diogu and Shavlik Randolph to back them up in the very plausible scenerio of Oden and Jermaine going down. Also, what is the point of picking up Kapono if we are trying to trade Outlaw to give Webster and Batum minutes?

In other words, this is a terrible trade for Portland too, so don't say that this is lopsided in Portland's favor.

Dude when we had J'Oneil at the starting of the year and he was health ..... we here very good, it really just he's been hurt recently and we been struggling ...... that's all it really is, but toronto had to know it was only time until Oneil was going too get hurt .....

I really don't like the original trade. It basically tanks the Raptors chances at anything significant for this year and next. The Raptors are giving up WAY too much for Outlaw who is the only long-term keeper here for the Raptors.

How much does Portland value Rudy Fernandez anyways? Does he have a starting spot in their future alongside Roy or what? Is something like Calderon for Blake/Fernandez too much for Portland? Because that is something I'd do.

Wow, you're actually right! When JO went down in the game against the Nets, the Raptors went tits up from that point on. He really is not the guy they'll be trading, if a trade is made.

only if we draft Lamarcus instead of Bargnani .....

Lamarcus
Bosh
ALLSTAR PLAYER
Parker
Ford or Jose

We could of traded Ford or Jose for a SUB ALLSTAR Wing player since we already have our front court .........

This proves that Bryan doesn't have high hopes on Bargnani because why else would we trade for a BIG instead of trading for a Wing? Doesn't really make sense since Bargnani is " The big of our future " ......

Talent wise Fernandez should start, but his best fit is at SG and that is Roy's spot. Fernandez will likely be our 6th man for many years. I think that is really where many of the Manu comparisons are coming from. Its not so much that he plays like Manu, but he is an energizer with starting talent, but is willing to come off the bench. I see 6th Man award(s) in his future. So yeah, Blake/Fernandez is definitely too much for Portland fans to give up for Calderon (I wouldn't trade Fernandez for Calderon straight up at this point). Especially since Blake is much improved this year by himself. Blake/Outlaw I would do though, but I'm not so sure if you Raptor fans would want that.

The only way that is true is if Bosh leaves. And even then you better not be rebuilding around Bargnani but the couple top 5 draft picks that you'll get after Bosh's departure.

Fair enough. I probably wouldn't do it if I was Portland either. Out of those non-Roy swing players the Blazers have (Fernandez, Batum, Outlaw, Webster), Rudy seems like the best one. I also always though Blake was underrated and Portland CAN do great things with him at PG. The importance of the PG spot is getting a bit overrated these days IMO.

The Ginobili comparisons to Rudy suck. He's most similar to Ray Allen.

Jermaine O'neal
Jason Kapono
3 million cash
2009 1st pick

Portland gives

Joel Przybilla
Raef LaFrentz
Travis Outlaw

It gives the Raps a much needed SF, that is not in Portland's long term plans.
A solid starting center to take some of the heavy lifting off Bosh
And some Cap relief next year

Portland clears there log jam at SF
Gets a more versatile big that can play the 4-5 and high post when Greg is in.
Get the three point threat they have been lacking since James Jones left
Gets a mid range Draft pick and cash to cover the slight hit in extra salary they will take.

Obviously this trade would hinge on whether Portland thinks JO can stay somewhat healthy...but it seems like a moderately fair deal to both from where I am standing.

I am not against trading Joel Przybilla just because of his contract.

How does this trade clear up the log jam though? We trade Outlaw but pick up Jason Kapono.

The three point shot is lacking in Portland? That's why they are the best three point shooting team in the NBA?

Fail

Jermaine O'Neal is still wanted as a Raptor. His toughness and defensive presence are invaluable.

14 games also isn't enough time to see what the JO/Bosh combo can really do.

JO's getting healthy and he's gonna be fine.

this guy is a fu.cking moron.......

why would portland do this ? They have aldridge? So one of them will come off the bench?

we also throw the best player in the trade AND A FIRST ROUNDER....... for 3 scrubs?

you know how badly this will further hinder our talent level with NO picks?

you can't be serious right? portland at least should give us 2 picks for JO even though he is slowed down he can put blazers to the top ..... his leadership and experience along with that type of talent....

I'm glad you're not a GM or else all of toronto would hunt you down not just me
