Default --Portland -- Red Hot & Rolling (Post Season?)

Portland 14 wins 6 losses. 16 out of there first 24 are road games. They have played multiple back to backs with 4 games in 5 nights. They are undefeated at home (7-0) Undefeated in the east. (6-0) they have big wins over the Spurs, Rockets, Heat, Hornets, Orlando, and Detroit. There first 5 games were teams that had 54 or more wins last year. (Started the season 1-3) They are starting 2 rookies and another rookie off the bench. Lead the league in 3 point shooting with there best shooter coming back this week. (Webster) Team stats are thru the roof. They are the 2nd youngest team in NBA history. The youngest starting 5 in NBA history (I think)

The Blazers are on another 5 game road trip right now. They are 3-0 so far. After this road trip there next 10 out of 13 games are home games for which they are 7-0. I think the Blazers are looking real good to make the post season this year.

What is your opinion on the Blazers? Will they make the post season?

I think they will make the post season and be the team no one wants to play. (Match up nightmares)

Peace Friends

What is your opinion on the Blazers?

Love the team, hate the fans. They have a lot of young talent and will only get better as time progresses.

Will they make the post season?

Probably, barring any major injuries. They are still a young team and haven't been fully acclimated to each other/the league so there is still lots of room for improvement. They aren't "battle tested" as some say and this can be a major problem towards the end of the season/start of the postseason. Being realistic however, they will not progress past the second round of the playoffs this year (assuming they make the playoffs). The Lakers, Hornets, Jazz, Spurs, Suns, Rockets, and Nuggets are still better than them "on paper."

Like last season they are off to a great start but they didnt finish well enough to get in the playoffs. this season their chances are better buts its not a given. Lakers, spurs, rox, hornets, jazz, suns are playoff locks. after that its denver, dallas, and of corse, portland.

they dont have a big 3 unless oden has an all star season. they have very good depth, specially at the 2/3 spots, but depth is something you need but a big 3 is another and they dont have that...yet. their depth tops in the league but their top 2 players arent that great. and lma isnt a great 2nd best player.

Rockets and Suns are locks? Jazz, too? Jazz and Rockets seem to have some new injury issue every week. Suns look old right now. Those teams and the Mavericks have a shot at missing the playoffs, in my opinion. At least 1 misses the playoffs.

I like this team a lot, but I'd still feel confident that we could beat em in a playoff series.

If we beat Boston Friday then for sure we are going to make it. If not then it's not a sure thing but likely. Blazers will be way better as the season goes along and we are almost done with the hardest part of our entire schedule. If things only get easier and we are 14-6 I think that's a good sign.

Fernandez, or Oden? In what your saying I think the Blazers big 3 is there depth. This teem is deep 1 thru 5 and 1 thru 5 on the bench. In my oppinion anyways.

Peace

houston can get to the playoffs hurt like they always do. utah just got deron williams, their best player, back. As a result brewer gets hurt. Just cuz a teams has injuries doesnt ruin their post season chances, only makes it worse. But the jazz and rockets still with good winning records. shouldnt be a surprise houstons staying afloat with injuries. November wasnt a tough schedule for utah so that helped them handle their injuries.

suns arent looking their best but they got stat and a top 10 offense. nash needs to pick it up for anything to hpapen.

Outside of the Lakers, the WEst is very watered down compared to last year. Blazers will make it for sure because they won't face the stiff comp of last year when all of the teams from 1-8 were very close and even 50 wins didn't mean you would make the playoffs.

Yet, in the past however many years the Blazers and Lakers play eachother extremely tough and the home team usually wins.

The Hornets and Jazz were dominated by the Blazers last year and the year before considering how much better the Hornets and Jazz were than the Blazers. The Blazers already beat the Hornets by 15 this season.

The Suns and Rockets have had the Blazers number in the past. I believe the Suns still do but the Rockets are done.

I think if the get the right match ups then Portland could get to the WCF but it's a long shot. If they play San Antonio or Phoenix then their playoff run will end.

The Blazers were off to a good start last season? You mean the 6-12 start against an easier schedule than they faced thus far this season? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. The Blazers didn't have success last season till almost Feb.

On your locks I'll give you Lakers, Spurs and Hornets as locks for the playoffs right now but the Jazz have had a lot of injury problems and are now going to have a tough time finishing in top two of the division against a rejuvenated Denver team and Portland. Houston is having injury problems, not playing to their potential and is lacking offense. Dallas just looks mediocre right now.

The Blazers don't have a big three? So what?

They have a fantastic leader and sidekick with 10 other rock solid players.

Do you realize how deep the Blazers are? They have Jerryd Bayless, a great college player and Summer League MVP as their third string point guard. Who is Denver's third string point guard? A washed up Chucky Atkins?

Do you realize that Portland is so deep that when Martell Webster returns from injury that Nate McMillian is going to have a difficult time even fitting him onto the bench.

Big Three? Who needs a big three with that much depth?

One game against Boston isn't going to tell you anything about a teams playoff chances. So by the logic you're using the Indiana Pacers are undoubtly making the playoffs after beating both the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers, the current two best teams in the league yet being 7-12.

It amazes me how quick people are to write off the second best team in the West (standings wise) and the fourth best in the NBA (standings wise) when the Blazers are in their toughest part of their schedule right now. Do you not realize that it's only going to get easier for them. Yes they will face some adversity with injurys and growing pains but those things won't hurt as much with an easy schedule as it would with a tough one later in the season.

I think you are both right and wrong in this statement. Yes, we started out very poorly (5-12), but it was December when we got rollin (13 game win streak). We cooled off in January, and stayed consistently mediocre the rest of the season.

Agreed. We still have 12 games left against Memphis, OKC and LAC, and have finished half our games against Phoenix and NO, are just a few game away from finishing half our games against Utah and have already completed our series with Miami.

Once we are done with this road trip we will have completed almost 40% of our road games for the year.

You can't really compare the path the team took last year witht he patht hey took this year. And even if you did, last year they started 6-12, this year we've start 14-6 which is tied for the fourth best start in franchise history.
