Default Lakers 4 - 1 despite mediocre offense

We've had a terrible start offensively with us being ranked 11th in ORTG and only 22nd in 3PT% despite being 24th in attempts.

Now the great news is that we've shown the ability to play lockdown defense while going through cold stretches in the game. Anthony Davis should be a DPOY candidate right now with his 92 DRTG and 1.2 stls/2.8 blocks per game.

Although we've struggled to score, we're still 8th in assists and 7th in least turnovers.

Lakers currently are dominating with the line-up of

    James
    Bradley
    Green
    AD
    Howard

That line-up has only played 14 minutes in 4 games according to NBA.com/Stats but have a 137.9 ORTG to a 63.3 DRTG. I think the site hasn't updated with the Mavs game yet because that was our line-up to close the 4th.

All 5 are playing elite defense while Bradley is the only one who's struggled on offense(31% on 3s with over 5 a game, career 36% 3PT shooter), other 4 all have a 117-125 ORTG, this should be our starting/closing 5 come Playoff time.

It's scary. Lakers look like they could have a top 5 offense and a top 5 defense once Kuzma gets in game shape. We got depth on paper but the bench has struggled so far, we played 11 guys against Dallas but only got 22 points from the bench. Kuzma and Rondo can't get back in shape fast enough, we need to get KCP off the damn court.

It's safe to say this team will have HCA in the first round barring significant injury.

They should be 3-2. Howard got away with holding Seth Curry to let Green get open and tie the game.

As Kobe said it, refs barely call shit in the closeout of a game. And this happens all the time. WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH - Celtics fan

So Bryant saw the foul as well? Don't see how he couldn't have really, it's obvious in the replays.

Thats why the NBA introduced challenges. But you can't tell me players don't do that ALL the time and it doesnt get called because it does.

I can tell you that LA should be 3-2 because Howard got away with holding the defender on the game tying shot. You don't have a point.

I can tell you Lakers should be undefeated if Kobe flew through Staples center and torpedo'd through Kawhis body until he exploded. Lakers 5-0.

Bad calls go both ways, imagine thinking that was the only missed call the entire game.

In his head, he made such a great point that Lakers should be 3-2 though. He's above us all!!

It was without a doubt the most crucial. Do you think a lay-up 5 minutes into the second quarter is just as important as a game-winner?

It all adds up. You can have a bad call in the 2nd quarter that kills a team's momentum. You can miss a foul call on a star player in the 2nd that would put them on the bench for the rest of the half. You can't just choose to look at one missed call and say it decided the outcome of the game.

It's like the Saints-Rams in last year's Playoffs. Yes, they missed a PI that would have probably ended the game but the Saints still had the ball to win it in 4th and in OT and didn't get the job done and there were calls the refs missed on the Saints. It happens in every sport and you can't just go back to that ONE call when there are so many others plays that you could nit-pick as well.

Mavs would have won it in regulation if Powell makes both FTs.

Except that it did. In a close game the importance of what happens at the end is magnified. A major no-call shouldn't be ignored if you are going to make a big deal over thr Lakers record over such a small sample size. One game becomes important and missing that call lead to the Lakers winning a game they should not have.
