Yeah. There's no definitive best atm, at least not to me. In terms of regular season it seems like Giannis and Harden.
In terms of what I think, it's Kawhi, Harden, Giannis, and LeBron. LeBron ain't playing as good this year offensively, but defensive he is as good since the possibly the Miami days. Kawhi hasn't been as efficient. We'll see by the playoffs.

Kawhi vs Warriors - 29/10/4/2, shut down Steph for most of the series
He averaged 30/9/4/2 on 62%TS for a title run... he's better than KD/Giannis/Bran defensively and can score just as well as them, now he's evolved his playmaking as well.
Kawhi is great but he never shut down steph. Matter of fact Steph did very good when Kawhi tried to guard him.. It was van fleet that did the best job on Steph. Yes Kawhi carried the Raptors to a title but he had an easy road with all the superstars hurt or injured during last seasons playoff push.. With KD injured I would still put Kawhi over Lebron though. Lebron isnt the same ole bron... Still bron is a top 5 player in the league..

I don't think anyone has an ironclad BITW case at the moment. Durant was finally building before his Achilles injury tipped the scales, and Kawhi was the only other superstar that's truly answered the bells that postseason.
The BITW title will probably be in a flux for years to come (unless Giannis makes even more strides), and it'll be hard to anoint anyone for this season until the playoffs unless someone really outdistances the pack, but I think Kawhi deserves the benefit of the doubt until then after a title run for the ages—even if his load management might militate against whatever MVP candidacy he has.
