I gave Wade the nod in 05-07 because he was also a tenacious defender at the time while LeBron never really was. But in 08 when LeBron was a better offensive player by far and an equal defensively than Lebron was the better player. Not to mention the things that LeBron does better than Wade like pass, rebound, score, make team mates better.

Wade was better in the '05 and '06 playoffs. I don't think anyone's going to argue with that. I have little doubt that the Heat reach the finals if Wade doesn't get injured in the ECF. I'd actually pick them over the Spurs for the championship. He missed game 6 where they got blown out. And he wasn't healthy for game 7. He did play his heart out but he just didn't have the impact. Shot like 40% and missed a crucial 3 iirc. We all know what he did in the '06 playoffs. Had a historic finals series. Dominated the Pistons who were one of the best defensive teams in the league.

But, Wade has never been a better season player than James. And I'm saying that as a big Wade fan. As great as Wade was last season, I don't think he had enough impact as LeBron. Wade was better in the '06-07 season before he got dislocated his left shoulder but once you factor in that injury, you'd obviously pick James. Would have loved to seen Wade with a injury-free career. Hopefully, he doesn't suffer another one. I would say this, though. Wade has the potential to have a better season than LeBron granted he's motivated and has the right team to around him to take off the pressure off of him. Would also help if James had somewhat of a down year.
