the Cavs were the VEGAS FAVORITES to win the title when the season started.

i guess the vegas guys ignored all the precedents: starting with lebron underachieving in HS when he lost the state championship as the favorite - that would have been a bad bet.

then in 2009 and 2010 when his team was favored to make the Finals and couldn't make it (even losing to Dwight Howard... )... more bad bets.

of course 2011 is well-documented.... the worst bad bet.

and 2014 was another underachievement despite having superior talent - the spurs beat the heat with superior strategy and team cohesion, not talent.

lebron was simply not employing an optimal brand of basketball on that Heat team and the 2014 Finals exposed it... certainly, a Bird-led team would have employed a vastly superior brand of basketball, which would have given his team a chance to win in 2014.
