Was looking forward to him having a role on the team. Hopefully the injury doesn't nag on him this season. Out guard spot is thinning.
Re: Ronnie Brewer out 6 weeks after surgery for meniscus tear
This sounds more like a surgery where they went in to clean some stuff out or strengthen something that was nagging. 6 weeks really isn't that long. It will mean that he'll be missing some training camp time though, which is not good for a player on a new team. I guess looking on the bright side, at least it's not a Shumpert long term situation.

8 weeks til start of season so it won't set us back cus he's here for defense, so chemistry shudnt be an issue
he'll be ready opening night he'll be out 3 full weeks according to Hahn and then rehab for 1.5 to 2.5 weeks still gives him some training camp and maybe a pre-season game or 2
The second-year guard didn't want to reveal too much about his rehab. He reiterated that, in the best-case scenario, he will return to the court between December and February.
"Every week (rehab intensifies) a little bit more and a little bit more, so I'm just being patient," said Shumpert, who led all NBA rookies with 1.7 steals per game last year and averaged 9.5 points. "I'm not trying to come back early. I'm just trying to come back when I can help."
Shumpert was walking around without a limp on Tuesday, hanging out with teammates J.R. Smith, Chris Smith and Ronnie Brewer at the BGC Partners offices near Wall Street.
