Re: "Better to make the finals and lose than not even make the finals."
No its not more prestigious to lose any earlier than Finals, especially not missing the playoffs entirely.....
Its not a "Bran statement", its simply a basketball logic statement.... you dont like "Bran", we get it, but you are disrespecting NBA history with your logic.... every team & player, even your guy Kobe & your Lakers... he i think has 7 Finals appearances right, would you rather him and Lakers quit in the 1st round or miss the playoffs than try compete for those 2 extra championships? 5 rings & 7 Finals appearances is better than 5 rings & 5 Finals appearances.... the 2 less Finals appearances is 2 LESSER playoff runs of performances & totals from Kobe... meaning it takes AWAY from his Legacy rather than ADDS.... sorry...

Re: "Better to make the finals and lose than not even make the finals."
This is the stupid argument in sports ever.
It is better to not medal than be in the finals and lose? Do you really think 2 gold medals and 3 silver medals is a terrible outcome in 11 years?

Of course it's better to make the finals than to lose earlier. Are people serious with this shit?

If he had lost in the ECF in 2007, 2011, and 2014, he would be 2/2
For some reason, idiots on ISH think this is better than getting farther.
I also saw some idiots saying they'd rather be 5/7 than 7/14

Re: "Better to make the finals and lose than not even make the finals."
Point is, 2/5 is a HUGE knock on him and ruins his legacy. Well, the collusion with two teams ruined his legacy more, but whatever.
2/5 is horrid considering he's had complete cakewalks to the finals for years with his stacked rosters in a horrid conference. He's literally given the luxury of taking breaks ON THE COURT because he knows no team in that conference can compete with that kind of superstar collusion. The west is over there kicking the hell out of one another and Bran can just rest up.
2/5 is HORRIBLE considering the circumstances and Bran will never be top 10 because of it.

well well well
Re: "Better to make the finals and lose than not even make the finals."
completely agree with op. making the finals there is like getting a playoff spot in the west in terms of real accomplishment.
there is a reason silver wants to end conference seeding after these last pathetic years. western playoff teams should ask for a refund

Re: "Better to make the finals and lose than not even make the finals."
LeBron gets knocked for losing in the finals as a 22 year old in 2007,
Kobe misses the playoffs in his prime, noone cares
LeBron gets knocked for losing in 5 to the Spurs in the Finals, after his two-peat
Kobe gets swept in the 2nd round after his 2-peat, plays like shit, and noone cares
Subconsciously, even Kobe stans hold LeBron to MUCH higher standards than Godbe

If he was 2/2, would you really consider it better? honestly?
And why hold the 2007 loss against him? Like you said, the EC is weak, and it's not like he had a talented enough team to beat Popvich/Duncan/Parker/Ginobli.

2/5 is great until you compare it to other ATGs.

Re: "Better to make the finals and lose than not even make the finals."
its not a bad thing to lose in the finals.... as long as you win more times than you lose
win more 1st rounds than you lose
win more 2nd rounds than you lose
win more 3rd rounds than you lose
and win more 4th rounds than you lose... because the object of the game is to win more often than you lose
