Default Tayshaun Prince, a Piston once again

Tayshaun Prince, a Piston once again

The Detroit Pistons confirmed the trade that brought Tayshaun Prince back to the team tonight, with a statement from head coach and president of basketball operations Stan Van Gundy.

The Pistons sent Jonas Jerebko and Gigi Datome to the Boston Celtics for Prince.

"Tayshaun Prince is certainly well known to fans in Detroit and we're pleased to welcome him back," Van Gundy was quoted as saying.

Not many players in the league have the respect Tay does, especially at the Palace. Great vetran signing - will play sparingly but will be used in a mentoring role, much like Chauncey and Big Ben were in their Piston returns...

Prince apparently would like the Pistons to buy out his contract, allowing him to sign anywhere he wants - the Los Angeles Clippers reportedly are interested in the 34-year-old forward - but Stan Van Gundy said that's not going to happen.

Sucks that he went to Minnesota.

Wish he could have stayed here.
