How can you honestly call Evan Turner a bust and manage to still be on OJ's nuts? Sure, Mayo is alright, but at best he is the forth best player from that draft class, and Turner hasn't even played a regular season game yet.

It is way too early....but we might as well get ready to call him that. 15% from the field? Hopefully he will get it figured out.

I don't think he will be a bust. Perhaps may not live up to the second pick overall though. But some players take more time to adjust than others.

DeMarcus Cousins dominated the first half of the summer-league, but he struggled the second half.

Greg Monroe started out slow in the summerleague, but finished it off with some big games.

My point is, young guys will struggle at some point. Eventually Cousins, Favors, Wall, etc.. will all go through it at some point in their young career. Turner might suck in the summerleague, and for the rest of the pre-season, but come out swinging in the regular season. We only have a very small sample size before us, so I think it is too early to come him a bust. Unless you were never impressed with him to begin with. And when I say that, I mean you have actually watched him in college.

Is it too early to say John Wall is a top 50 player already?

PleezeBelieve has been hyping Evan Turner up. I blame him. Too early to call him a bust but its perfectly normal to be concerned about his performances. I havent seen him this preseason tho so I cant call him. SL he looked weak.

There are legitimate reasons to be concerned:

    1) He's not an elite athlete.
    2) He's not a great outside shooter.

He was basically a 6'7 point at Ohio State and he used his height to see over his defenders and shoot over them. He needs the ball in his hands to be effective, but I don't think he's good enough to be a #1 perimeter option in the league -- can he create good looks and penetrate against the 6'5+ athletic wing defenders in the league?

He's talented enough at his size that he won't be a bust, but I have my doubts as to whether he'll justify his #2 selection.

He reminds me of the Phx Suns version of Grant Hill.

You know what gets me about your average basketball fan? They dont know sh*t, and they never seem to learn from their past mistakes.

How many threads, have been bumped over the years, where some of you, or others, have attempted to predict how a player will turn out, only to be miserably WRONG?

The fact is, some of you need to stop with this nonsense of predicting a players ability/career before the player has even had a concrete chance of getting out there, and ADJUSTING TO THE DAMN NBA LEVEL.

I mean jesus christ almighty, the kid has barely had a chance to get his feet wet....NOT ALL EARLY LOTTERY PICKS COME IN AND ARE INSTANTLY SUCCESSFUL.

Thus is the nature of rookies. Some DO turn out to be busts, but mostly these players need time to develop, AND to adjust their game to the NBA level.

This isnt some random adjustment, where you just walk into some pickup game, and go on your merry way. College to the NBA is highly different.

Wait until at least a year or two of him playing horrible, to throw around that "bust" label. Christ, its like a broken record with that shit.

@ calling him a bust after a few Summer League games and one pre-season game. Kid's gonna be a top 5 SG in the League once he gets a few years under his belt.

    Book it.
