Default I need an Answer of any NBA expert:

Replace the following PF for Duncan (5 Rings) in 1998 (same age, no injuries, same spurs squads and coach, same opponents, how many rings?)

    16 NBA Seasons

    1- Charles Barkley

    2- Karl Malone

    3- Kevin Garnett

    4- Dirk Nowitzki

    PD: T_L_P be honest.

Tim Duncan's defense is pretty irreplaceable except by Garnett on that list.

Id say they would have to change the team around too much to count their rings.

Like Navy said, only Garnett is an elite defender out of that group...and his offense wasn't as effective as Duncan's in the postseason.

Exact same teammates...Garnett wins 3 (04, 07, maybe 08 [if Barry gets the call])...Dirk/Malone/Barkley win 2 at most.

    Why not 1999? Or 05?

Im not going year by year considering what level the guy would be after ____ years in the league...so im just saying the player in the general level of his prime...

    Id say...

99 - KG, Barkley, and Malone could have potentially won it but I wouldnt bet on any of them. And I might cut it to just KG and Malone. Im not sure how much Dirk and Barkleys defense hurts. Malone wasnt a great defender but he did try...and he had the physical tools.

    03. I dont think any of them but Duncan win that year.

05 and 07...id give them all a chance.

14 id say they all have a great chance with Dirk and KG making that team better than Malone and Barkley who would both stop the ball movement a bit.

Dirk and Barkleys lack of defensive effort/ability would slow some of those team but I dont think it hits too hard 07 on. They would be more valuable on offense than the aging Duncan most of the time without taking enough from the D to keep them from contending.

He asked for NBA experts and not a single one reply here is by an expert. Get out of here kids. Honestly KG might win more titles, he's a great leader which is something Duncan has never been. He's unable to light a fire under his teammates.

I was laughing at you calling Barkley overrated. And then saying he was better than Duncan. Not that I disagree/agree.

Who are your favorite spurs players?
