Heat encouraged by Pittman progress in D-League
Perhaps it was Heat coach Erik Spoelstra's way of avoiding the question.
Or maybe he was truly encouraged about the progress made by center Dexter Pittman during his stint in the NBA Developmental League. When asked about Josh Harrellson's signing Thursday before it became official, Spoelstra quickly shifted the focus to Pittman.
Pittman is averaging 13.6 points and 9.3 rebounds the last three games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
"He's coming along," Spoelstra said. "He's able to start stringing together some games down there, get some experience, get his game legs, go through fatigue, have to make decisions when he's fatigued on the court. It's been a very good experience for him so far."
