WHY ON EARTH would the Knicks take on Love's contract?

Melo has less years than Love and is a better player. Unless the Knicks are getting the #1 draft pick (overall), it makes ZERO sense.

Love would go to the Celtics- Knicks at a minimum would get this year's Brooklyn pick. Knicks don't have a 1st round pick this year at the moment. Rumor was that the Cs engaged Cleveland, but the Cavs didn't like the proposed return, and thus roped in NYK.

I think I like Love on here more than most, but why would the Celtics giveaway that pick+ for him? Unless they genuinely think Love is the piece that puts them in the conversation with GS... Spurs, OKC, and Cleveland. I don't see it. Would rather take my chance on the high draft pick and not mortgage the future on a guy already proven he's not a franchise player.

Melo is old and done. Love is 26 and his deal is GREAT. Some of you have no clue about the $$$.
