What more is there to report at this point? Maybe Stern was right and it was an isolated incident?
No, wasn't it reported that there are around 20 other ref's who have gone through some sort of gambling? I think Donaghy had said that, I remember hearing it.

It turned out to be gambling on a superbowl. Which yes, it is against the policies guiding the Refs, but not sensation enough to continue the constant coverage. I also believe Donaghy was asking for police protection until the trial so you wont see much more of hium until then.

And then David Stern's response was, 'I won't listen and I'm not going to do anything about it'. Kind of odd from a guy who was just insisting that every word in the rulebook was sacrosanct, no?
So, what we've got now is a cover-up. The NBA has pledged to ignore the situation, the officiating will still be indistinguishable from game-fixing, and Stern will continue to smirk disdainfully at anybody who questions him.

As someone mentioned, nothing new has come about. So 20 refs bet on the Super Bowl and went to play blackjack at a casino, hardly anything to write home about.
I have two college coaches in my fantasy football league which is against their regulations too (and they work for pretty big Big East programs). Everyone isn't supposed to do it, but they do.
AND the NFL scandal took away a lot of the focus. When the Super Bowl champs cheat, and admitted it, it made the NBA scandal look a little less important.
If Donaghy is lying and has nothing to add to the scandal report he gave, why would he ask for police protection ?
Stern is as crooked as orenthal's bow legs there has to be more to this scandal.
lol because he should be not asking for protection after pissing off an entire league's worth of sports fan and having mafia connections and being on trial?
