What would you do if you're the Mavs?

DJ is looking for a big contract, but has become such a beast. Tyson Chandler is old, still very good, and will command less of a salary.

The Mavs only have $43m on salary for next season with a projected cap of $66.5m but they won't have a Center.

Monta might or might not opt out, he's currently signed at $9m and I'm not sure what the market value for him is.

Resigning Chandler would probably leave enough to sign another decent Free Agent while DJ would most likely leave you with very little cap room. With DJ you have more value as a trade piece or a piece for the future.
