That's the same with every generation. You think our parents who were our age during the hippie era look back at bellbottoms, tie die shirts, drug culture, etc. and think "Wow we were pretty cool." No.

I've brought up Samoan tattoo's once or twice on here. I'd love to get one, but I'm not Samoan, so what's the point? But those guys are the real deal. Skills passed on from generation to generation.
