anything can happen. i think lebron is the only realistic bet. and thats assuming he continues his injury free career

but i'm seeing/predicting a serious problem down the road for lebron.

its very rare a guy plays 99% of games 11 straight years without hitting the wall sooner or later

and lebrons playing deep into the playoffs every year cause of he east.

i think in mileage lebrons already around 35. hes not 30

    LeBron's 29 while Kobe is 36

LeBron is only 8000 points away while being 7 years younger

He can basically catch kobe on his current rate in 3-4 years, or can coast and catch him in 7 years scoring only like 1200 a year

Either way LeBron will catch Kobe eventually

Go ahead and post it, because we all know you've got it narrowed down to some other arbitrary numbers club that includes ONLY Kobe. Not quite sure what it is,, but I know you've got it.

[COLOR=Teal]Duncan will probably eclipse Kobe's playoffs total in like two or three years (barring a miracle Lakers playoff run,) but I don't think he has enough in him to hit 30k.

Predicting or hoping? Outside of knee problems, which is a bridge all prolific basketball players cross, I don't see Lebron hitting an injury bug unless its some kind of freak accident.

kobes been part of that reserved club i have in my back pocket for quite some time

i'm still waiting for the right opportunity to pull that ace out of my sleeve

    ok here it is anyway

    30/10/10 club

    30 X K points
    10 X all nba
    10 X all defense

    one member

    Kobe Bryant

infact. kobes also the only member of the 30/15/10 club... with 15 all nba teams.. but i thought i'd make it easier for everyone else

lebron wasnt that far ahead of kobes pace before kobes leg injuries

lebron is 30 for the upcoming season

kobe is 36 for the upcoming season

meaning lebron is 6 years younger

their birthdays are separated by like 4 months

    but anyway

kobe by age 35 had 31,617 points

    lebron is at 23,170

    thats 8,447

would take an average of 1,407 points per season to be at 31,617 by age 35

which is around 19ppg if you play on average 75 games a season

i see lebron averaging a much lower scoring average this season

    could be at around 23-24ppg

    then 2016 at around 22-23ppg

    then 2017 at around 20-21ppg

    then 2018 at around 18-20ppg

    2019 at around 17-19ppg

    2020 at around 16-17ppg

keep in mind. when lebrons 35. kyrie and love will be prime

well over 6 years those averages combined might just be enough to get up to 31-32 K

its not such a big walk in the park. not as lebron gets older and his team mates start taking over the scoring load

    trust me

of course a fan of basketball would hope any players to remain healthy, unless the dude is fk up.

the fact that LeBron, who's not known to be a prolific scorer, for him to reach 30k / 5k, and stacking his resume with his assists and rebounds total, really show how great an all around player he is, much more than most other players. Currently

    Points Rebounds Assist totals
    Reg Season,
    23k/6k/5.7k

    Playoffs
    4.4k/1.3k/1k

at worst lets say LeBron average 1.8k points, 400 rebounds, 400 assists in the regular season for the next 4 (age 33), he will have 30k/7.5k/7k. Hes gonna get more if there isn't much dropoff in the next few season. And say he play till 35. Positively we might see something close to 30+/9/9.

Playoffs wise he's only getting to 5k total points in 1 or 2 playoffs, depending on his performance and the number of games he's going to be playing in, but the Cavs most probably will be going deep.

Now joining the 30/5k club with a bunch of stats dominant to another member of the club, say Kobe for instant, really show his greatness as a complete all around player.

LeBron's lowest scoring season since his rookie year has been 26.8 ppg

Thats with playing with a 25 ppg Wade and a 19 ppg Bosh. Heck Wade and leBron both averaged 25-26 ppg no problem

I dont see LeBron averaging less than 25 ppg for the next 4-5 years minimum

So in 3-4 years I predict he'll catch Kobe at the age of like 33

    When LeBron retires

    36000 points 10000 rebounds 10000 assists

    GOAT all around stats
