Marcus Thornton dropd 36 on Celtics
The AP reports:
After struggling performance in his last three games, Marcus Thornton was ready to bust out of his recent shooting slump.
Thornton erupted for 36 points and notched five steals Friday night to lead Sacramento to a convincing 120-95 victory over Boston.
In his previous three games, Thornton had hit only 33 percent from the field and averaged 10 points a game. He had been held below double figures in each of his last two games for lowest-scoring two-game set of the season.
“To win games in this league you’ve got to play night in and night out, and that’s what I’m trying to do,” Thornton told the Associated Press, referring to lopsided losses earlier this week to Golden State and Detroit. Thornton scored nine points in each of those games.
Thornton nailed five 3-pointers as the Kings ran the Celtics out of the Power Balance Pavilion with a determined second-half performance.
