So you think if LeBron heard that rumor during the series he wouldn't just ask Delonte and his mom what was up, get it confirmed that it wasn't true and move on? I mean we're talking about his mom and his teammate here, no need to listen to rumors and let it affect you if you can just ask them yourself.

I'm sure he asked, still some rumours are affecting ones mentality. Lets say you hear in your workplace your wife is sleeping with a boss, and even though they deny it, and you believe them, still most likely you would be mentally vulnerable for some time. My guess is, such rumour surfaced among players during playoffs for very specific reason - to throw him off, and it probably worked.
