    I think plenty around the league thought that they overpaid Hawes. At the time, I thought the signing could be justified if he improved his defense, but then I found out that giving him full MLE required dumping Dudley and wasn't a fan of getting him.

    Team should have made a draft day guarantee to McGary (like OKC did), given Pierce $10M/2 years, signed Aaron Brooks + Ed Davis to min, given James Johnson part of the BAE, and saved a roster spot for a buyout guy. No hard cap issues.

    Paul-Reddick-Pierce-Blake-Jordan
    Brooks-Crawford-Barnes-Dudley-Davis
    ___- Bullock- Johnson- Big Baby - McGary

    Much better usable depth on the team.
