Default If Derrick Rose's career ended today, would he be a HOFer? (All former MVPs are in)

I think he would be the first one to not make it. Not enough cumulative stats or achievements besides a single MVP.

    What say you?

ehhh probably on the border, but as time passes his legend will increase exponentially... like penny and hill

so maybe because he has the MVP, but my guess right now would be no

this thread is just asking the rose haters to complain about his mvp, return, injury problems and syntax

    Yes.
MVP. All-NBA 1st Team. Three Time All-Star. Conference Finals. In Five Seasons.

There are players with more seasons and less accolades in the Hall. The late Walt Bellamy played 14 seasons, with only one more All-Star appearance. No MVP or All-League Teams or Conference Finals. He's In.

Rookie of the year and 2 fiba gold medals too

I think he gets in if stays even at this level for the rest of his career
but right now it would be a polarizing subject, i mean mitch richmond got in so it isnt inconceivable

    would be awesome though

Calvin Murphy. 1 All-Star game. Finals Appearance.
    Earl Monroe. 4 All-Star games. 1 All-NBA 1st Team. No MVP. A ring though.

If Kevin Johnson gets in this year ...

KJ made deep playoff runs, and maybe his helping to keep the Kings in Sacramento nudges him in, but as a player he's borderline.

Rose has flamed out in the playoffs, and looks like his best years are behind him in terms of athleticism and scoring ability.

The basketball hall of fame isnt that prestigious. I say the mvp is enough

No. But if he plays 4-5 more seasons of above average ball and they make several ecf or finals appearances...then sure

    No way.

    Rose's only elite seasons were 2011 & 2012. He was good in 2010 but he wasn't a top 10 or 15 player.

On his resume he has an mvp, 3 all stars, and an all nba 1st team along with weak career totals in stats.

He wouldn't be hall of fame if he retired today and he won't be unless he can be a top 10 player again for at least a few seasons.

KJ is underrated. Prime KJ in today's NBA = Best Point Guard in the league.

    This is laughably false.

Rose is 26 and missed 2 seasons that were vital to his development due to serious injuries. He is not what he used to be and once his athleticism fades away he will fall of severely.
