LeBron isn't done with his career genius. Those assist numbers WILL go down. Nevermind the fact play making isn't just based on 'assists'.

Because Larry Bird is a player we're seeing now
How many 30 PPG seasons has Larry Bird had in his first 7 years? Wait, make that his whole career? LeBron just started his prime, he's only 25 years old, he's got SO much basketball to be played.

His assists will go down? He averaged 6,7,8 assists every year with " Super teammates" such as Boobie Gibson, Mo Williams, Big Z, Donnyel Marshall. Now he gets to play with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. His assists will go up.

I compared LeBron's style of play to another persons, not Bird's.

Dirk is a poor man's Bird, just like LeBron is a poor man's Jordan.

Actually he's had one, in '88. 29.9ppg on 52% (shooting 91 % from the FT line and 41% from 3). Bird also grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 6 assists. I'd take that season over LeBron's any day of the week.

Sigh... I'm not talking about next year or a few seasons down the line. When LeBron reaches the end of his career his all around numbers, just like every other legend, will go down. This is reality, why argue otherwise?

Dirk is a poor man's Bird
Other than scoring, in which case I still think Bird trashes Dirk in, he's really not a poor mans Bird. Nothing from his game resembles Bird besides the ability to hit FT's and 3PT shots. Two different players, one is Dirk Nowitzki, the other Larry Bird.

Larry Bird = Skills & Toughness
    LeBron James = Athleticism

One of those lasts into old age, the other doesn't.

Lebron needs to do nothing because he is better player than Larry Bird basketball wise. But Lebron will never pass Bird's status and legacy in the NBA. Bird's hardwork and mind set plus the heart and skill what separates him from Bron. And the way Bird and Magic went against each other makes them the best.

Lebron has already inked in his image with his stupid antics, and courtside dancing, and other random nonsense.

Bird was a stone cold killer, with ice water in his veins. Period. THAT alone, keeps Larry's legacy leagues ahead.
