Kobe wasn't a starter until the 98-99 season which was strike shortened to 50 games. How is he considered past his prime after the 2006-07 season at age 28?

Kobe's prime was from 2003-2009. I meant that it would have been interesting to see Kobe/Pau during his peak, i.e. 2006 - 2007. We saw how they played together in 2008, but I believe Kobe was at his absolute best the 2 years prior.
