People are gonna eventually look at all this and see he had been making bigtime plays before he ever won. Kinda like how Hakeem suddenly became super clutch in the mid 90s when he had been wetting turnaround 19 footers at the buzzer, blocking game winners, ripping guards setting up key plays, and taking over with 50/25 playoff games before anyone cared.

Lebron has been the best player in the league for as much as 6 years but no less than 4.

Lebron not being clutch is gonna end up an opinion held by 32 old people who remember GIFs onthe internet in 2011 without any of the dozens of big plays he made being considered. Really...he led the NBA in 4th quarter scoring like 3 times with people saying he doesnt score in the 4th quarter.

Hes gonna end his career with a laughably long list of clutch plays and will still have a handful of people mad posting ugly post up plays from games he won in 2010 and 2 missed game winners from 2011.

Lebron has been more reliable than most superstars in the clutch or otherwise since like 2005. But now that hes won people lose the only negative thing left to be said so the rest will shine abit more in time.
Very well said. LeBron pretty much was penalized in the past for having an inadequate supporting cast. In fact, I actually think LeBron played at a higher level in 09 and 10 than the LeBron in 11' and 12'. To put, I believe 09 or 10 to be LeBron's peak. LeBron was better all around in the regular season. That monster series he had against Orlando in 09 was incredible.

LeBron has started posting up more this year and cutting down on his long range jumpers, that's why his efficiency is through the roof. But I will still take 09' or 10' LeBron over the present LeBron.

IDK. I don't think the Lebron isn't a winner/clutch thing will just go away like it did for the once bad reputations of Magic or MJ.

For one, we have physical evidence of Lebron's bad reputation. We can still see comments on youtube from 2011 of the Lebron 4th quarter jokes and they'll be there for a while. And skip bayless's videos from 2011 are still up. And the Yahoo and ESPN and Fox and CNNSI articles are still up.

Secondly, the Lebron thing was bigger than Magic or Jordan's bad reputation...the whole country and their moms was in on it and didn't like Lebron.

So it's going to be harder for it to go away.

Did Lebron looked bouncier to anybody else in the Olympics? I haven't seen him look this explosive since he played on the Cavs, if you made a list of his 10 most athletic plays since "The Decision", at least 5 of them are from these Olympics.

That nasty and-1 dunk in the semifinals showed acceleration in the halfcourt that I haven't seen out of him in years, and he took off in the open court for a dunk with his foot outside the paint (he did that somewhat often in Cleveland, but has yet to do it once as a member of the Heat). He's just showed far more ability to blow by his man and make plays in the halfcourt in the Olympics, his drives and finishes looked far more reminiscent of '10 than '12.

Dude is just playing to exhausted with all that minutes, energy defensively/offensively (playing basically all positions), after a rest he is pretty damn bouncy
