Is it, as I assume it is, in relation to 3p distance, so measured from the center of the basket? Or is it relative to FT distance, and measured from the backboard?
Or is it measured from the front of the rim? Or the baseline? Those last two are two silly dark horses.
5 30-34 ft shots
2 35-39 ft shots
4 40+ ft shots
They are classified in different range cats.

You are legit an idiot. Way to not answer his post. It's okay, not everyone has basic reading and writing skills.
Kshutts, I think it has to be measured to the center of the rim. You can't measure relative to the backboard because what if the shot is taken from the corner? Or along any angle that is not a straight on shot, like a free throw is.

Dunno where you found this data.
http://stats.nba.com/player/#!/20193...HOT_DIST&dir=1
Can sort it by distance, which the link should show.
I count 10 from 30+ feet, then another 8 or so from 29+ feet.

It's OK, if projection makes you feel better about yourself.

Makes sense. Had not considered that.
The only other viable option would be closest point of rim, then, but that's not likely to be the case, since that measurement is not used for any distance. At least not that I'm aware.

wouldn't it just be measured from the center of the hoop?

BTW, I also counted 25 from 28+ feet from that data source.
And the bottom line...Curry is almost impossible to defend. He has an almost unlimited range. He has the best handles in the game. And he is probably the most proficient driver of the ball in the NBA as well.
I don't need some technical breakdown to prove this.
