Default Would these guys win multiple titles starting out with....

    .... Popavich and David Robinson?

    Sheed
    K.G
    Webber
    Dirk
Van horn (he sucks compared to the others but still)
Baker (was a beast in his prime but also not on the first 4 level)
    Mcdyess (same with Baker)

Would these guys win multiple titles with these two greats mentoring them early in their career???

No love for Webber and Sheed who never had a great center like d-rob on their team?

You made a stupid statement on Duncan...people called you on it. You are not going to make people think its rational by extending it into a 3rd topic.

Duncan is a great player but I'm just being reasonable here. You're telling me none of these guys that I have listed would win multiple rings with pop and d-rob mentoring them from their rookie year and so on?

I doubt any of them could win 5 though. Dirk can't compensate for the level of defense you miss without Duncan. I think KG would do best

KG and Dirk would've won titles.

Five titles though? Probably not. KG would come close.

Exactly. This is the point I'm trying to make. Duncan was in a great and fortunate position to have military man popavich and d-rob bring him up in the league. K.g and d-rob would be sensational indeed.

Im telling you...you made a dumb statement(Duncan is easily replaced) it spread to a second topic...on dumb statements...where you argued the absurd point...and now a third.

You make a stupid list ranking Walt Frazier over Duncan and Hakeem(for obvious reason) defend it like an idiot...claim two of Duncans rings are asterisks...that he was "trained" by Drob and all...got clowned.

If you want to continue the discussion/clowning of your absurd argument do so in the topic that spawned the reaction.

    You made that topic too.

It just doesnt need to be in 3 topics.

KG is a very interesting discussion, as is Dirk. We have no idea how they would've developed under Pop, and in KG's case, having a rim protector and shot blocker like Robinson there early on to let his defensive versatility thrive. And while KG isn't the scorer Duncan is, his unreal vision for his position would make for some nasty offensive possibilities under Pop. It's easy to go season by season and say "this year's KG would win, this year he wasn't good enough" but realistically we just don't know how KG's natural talent and feel for the game would manifest itself under vastly different developmental circumstances.

Honestly, I don't see how KG would've improve in this scenario. Talent wise he's up there with anybody in history aside from a very select few. That's not to say he's better than Duncan in reality though, because he's not. I say KG gets like 3 rings, 4 being likely. Probably go with 3 for Dirk as well, obviously under the reasonable assumption that the Spurs FO builds around Dirk's strengths and Pop adapts as well.

You honestly should've just asked how many rings KG would've won in Duncan's place after draft day. You still get to have your agenda thread, without the retardery of putting Sheed in the conversation.

I apologize for saying that anybody could replace him I meant to say that a few people could and I believe in it because they could win multiple titles in Duncan's place. K.G, dirk, sheed, and Webber were nothing to laugh at man. I mean come on man Duncan had one coach his whole career, how do we know if he would be as productive with another coach? I admit that I was carried away with saying hakeem and frazier should be above duncan in top players ever but let me just say that Duncan was very forunate his WHOLE NBA career. Good for him.

KG would have been at least as successful as Duncan in the same situation.

Indeed, K.g was the number one replacement for Duncan
