Your problem is that you see "white" as some sort of pure, neutral starting point.

Yeah, if you add chocolate to vanilla, the vanilla gets darker, but you're using vanilla as your imaginary "pure state". You can easily reverse it, and make the exact same point.

If you take chocolate ice cream as your "pure state" and proceed add vanilla into it, it becomes lighter.



People here are basically trying to argue that white is white, black is black, and every shade of grey is black. No, grey is it's own thing. it's grey.
