Default Kevin Durant is an elite defender/rebounder

Has great length, good speed, and shot blocking ability. People underrate him cause he coast in the regular season, but when the playoffs hits he was dominate on the defensive end. His ability to to protect the rim vs the Warriors is why the Warriors small ball lineup of death tanked.

In fact I would bet the Warriors defense improves more than their offense. (Regular season anyways)

He was amazing on defense in the Spurs and Warriors series. He has always had that ability but can he keep up the consistency on the defensive end is the question.

    Underrated defender

Outside Lebron, KD35 can lock up almost anyone

Only critism is his physicality fighting through screens

He will be the face of GSW for years to come

Can't wait to see the X-mas day game 8===D

all the Lebron vs Durant hype

perfect fit for GSW as they now have a go-to man in clutch time

Honestly I always thought he was an average defender until watching him this last playoffs. He showed some elite defensive abilities against the Spurs and Warriors.

He's long as hell and athletic.

That's a very solid template for a good defensive player.

Just needs to put forth the effort that he did in these last playoffs.

hes a great rebounder and a great man to man defender. Problem is that screens bother him so much, making him switch too easily throwing off the teams defense and giving easy pts for the opposition.

Great defender but not a great rebounder . Westbrook far better rebounder than him .

He's a terrible defender. Made Wes Matthews look like The Second Coming.

Never been remotely good on defense, just guards the opposition's weakest offensive perimeter guy generally.

He is nice when playing on the ball in terms of defense. Throw a pick at him, get him moving, or get him thinking about anything other than the guy with the ball and he sucks.
I don't know if there is a stat out on this, but I guarantee Kevin Durant would lead the league in back door cuts allowed. At the Olympics it was most evident. The Euro countries and teams really pick up on that shit quick.

And rebounding? Very average. When is the last time he averages more than 1 offensive rebound per game?
