Re: 50+ pt games with less than 50% shooting
ISH LOGIC:
+50 on 46% = Terrible
+50 on 50% = Amazing
15-30 shooting = GREAT 50% SHOOTING PERFORMANCE
14-30 shooting = CHUCKING 46% SHOOTING BALL HOG PERFORMANCE

You're truly stupid if you think Durant is a chucker.
As for his game last night, he shot 3/11 in the 1st half and a lot of those misses were just "legs" shots that could've been attributed to being on the second night of a back-to-back. He also got some unfortunate rolls/bounces on chippies around the basket in the 1st quarter. And that 3/11 start came almost entirely in the first quarter. He shot 1/8 in the 1st quarter and was 2/10 with 2:30 to go in the 1st half but he had sat on the bench the first 5-6 minutes of the 2nd quarter.
So, at halftime, he had 13 points on 3/11 shooting. Meaning in the second half and overtimes he scored 38 points on 12/21 (57%) shooting. He adjusted, started attacking more (this happened in the 1st quarter after he started something like 1/6 in the first few minutes) and drawing fouls -- and yes, they were legit fouls. He knew hs jumper wasn't falling and attacked the basket. It was actually impressive that he was able to get stronger and start shooting and scoring at such an efficient clip in a double OT game on the second night of a road back-to-back.

Durant had a step through layup last night that literally rolled halfway down and back out. If he gets a favorable roll on just that one shot, he goes from scoring 51 on 47% (15/32) shooting to scoring 51 points on 50% shooting (16/32).

Kobe bossing as usual.
50 points is no easy feat. The more you shoot the more your percentage to go down.
Greatest scorer of all time.

Wilt is the KING alright...
122 total games of 50+
16 in which he failed to shoot 50%
106 in which he shot 50% or better
38 in which he shot 60% or better
10 in which he shot 70% or better
5 in which he shot 80% or better
So, Wilt shot 50% or better, in 87% of his 50+ point games.
BTW, Chamberlain had one 41 point game on 16-18 (.890), another 41 point game on 16-17 (.941), and another 42 point game on 18-18 shooting (100%)
Incidently, Chamberlain achieved those FG%'s in leagues that shot, on average over his 14 seasons, an eFG% of about .435.
